Wow it has been a busy busy FALL here in Peterborough, ON! How has your FALL been?
It has been since August that I have sent out a true update about The Oldest Child, and now that the seasons are changing and the music and school are becoming less demanding, I would like to share with you that past few months.
As of writing this I am proud to announce that in this short existence The Oldest Child has surpassed 6500 Myspace hits and acquired over 1000 fans on Facebook. And seriously, I would like to thank each every one of you who took the seconds and/or minutes to even think about me, vote, or fan me - Thank you
After wrapping up THE AUGUST RUSH TOUR back in Mid-September with Andy Cotter at The Spill (http://www.myspace.com/andrewcottersounds); The Oldest Child took to the stage at THE GROOVE LOUNGE (http://www.leskratchoshawa.com) with many other great indie bands as part of BREAK YOUR BAND 2009 held by SUPERNOVA (www.supernova.com). This was a great show and I met many great folks and hopefully nabbed a few new fans!

In most recent news, THE OLDEST CHILD needs your VOTE again! As part of the
BREAK YOUR BAND 2009 band competition TOC took the stage at The Atria in Oshawa, ON with the likes of 9 other acts! THE OLDEST CHILD is still in the running for THE WILDCARD VOTE!

Back in October TOC found himself playing with many other great bands for some very excellent causes. On the 22nd of October TOC, HOLLOWPOINT, BRANE, FAITH OF A MARTYR, and BRANE rocked very hard to help out a great up and coming fashion designer make her way to Vancouver Fashion Week!

October 23rd found TOC sharing the stage with other great acts; TONKA PUMA, ANDREW VINCENT and AVERY ISLAND to support SOUNDTRACKED VOLUME ONE at The Green Bottle, Oshawa, ON (Sadly -the bottle has closed its doors). It was a great time to be a part of such a celebration of the arts :) Check out the pictures and VIDEOS!

Coming into early November; TOC, DUKE MACINTOSH, THE DEAD LETTERS and TROY THOMPSON and THE KISMET KULPRITS took to The Spill (www.thespill.ca) in Peterboroough, ON. This concert was so great, and super well received :) A great night with beer friends and even CAKE! Check out the pictures and VIDEOS!

This show also celebrated the first appearance of THE OLDEST CHILD on the RADIO! TOC was on FRESH NEW ROCK 92.7fm on September 30 with Kate S. and I hope this will be the first of many on air appearance.
In line with this, THE OLDEST CHILD along with many other great local artists took part in a Trent Radio Studio C Lullaby project! AUTUMN LULLABY was recorded accapella. The lullaby will be added to the player very soon :) A big thank you to Jill Staveley for footing the entire bill on this project - from recording to press! And congrats on your new wonder!

Looking into the future....

Planning is coming along, mostly in my head, for a debut album/EP. This will be a defining moment in my life. And I am really hoping to produce something people will love. But this is just in the planning phase ;)
